I try to preach very few things to others, but one thing that I
fanatically advocate here in the hot, humid South is a heavy-duty
radiator core; specifically, an n+1-row core, where n is the number of
rows installed at the factory. My 'B has a 4-row, and my Volvo has a
3-row (OEM was 2-row), all-brass to replace those stinkin' plastic
tanks, but that's another story...
Both cars' temperature gauges stay smack in the center (even while
running AC on the Volvo). Neither car has any other cooling system
modification - stock fans, stock thermostats, stock water pump pulleys,
etc.
