I have an A with a coolant overflow bottle. It uesed to fill up a
bit sometimes and the level go down in the bottle at others.
This was pre oil cooler and very high engine temps. Now coolant doesn't seem to
need to blast past the rad cap.
With coolant loss and A's check that you have the long type of rad cap.
Check that the flanges on the rad neck are not warped upwards (the
screw arrangement) If they are gently knock them down. This will
enable the rad cap to screw down all the way and seal.
