The 67 is a desirable year. However, the rust will almost certainly mean
the car needs new outer rocker panels, new inner membrane, new castle
sections, and at the very least new lower fender panels. That is a lot of
work, if you do it yourself, and a lot of expense otherwise. The
transmission is probably worth $450 or so. I think the price is about
twice what it should be, unless the car has a spectacular original leather
interior, exceptional mechanical condition, or some other mitigating
factor you did not mention. Even then, it sounds a bit high. If it has a
vinyl replacement interior...start negotiating.
