Sound advice.
For a really good tube-cleaning, you can remove the tube. Pulls right
out. Getting it back in is tricky though, and I haven't stumbled across
a method of refitting it that doesn't require an assistant. There's a
plastic plug/grommet on the right side of the center console, somewhere
near the heater vent. Behind this plug is the exact spot where the
plastic tube slides onto the metal one from the airbox. The assistant
guides the plastic tube into place while you push it up from beneath
the car.
