Thanks for the reply. That is exactly what I found (at about noon today)!

Surprising though, I had replaced the master cylinder about five years ago
and have only used DOT 4 brake fluid. Never the less, there was a bunch of
black stuff in a corner of the reservoir. Must have been oxidized aluminum
from the connecting line.
