Alan:
Get yourself a nice stroboscopic timing light, and set the timing back to
15dbtdc. Set it back to 10 in two years when this nightmare comes round
again.
To set the mixture on a Z-S, you need a little tool that Moss, Vicky B, and
several others sell. Originally enough, it's usually called a Z-S Carburettor
Tool. It fits through the top of the dashpot and moves the needle up and
down, I believe. To set your screws properly again, turn them all the way
in, then back them out about a turn and a half each. That should bring you
to approximately normal. You'll have to diddle a bit from there.
I thank whatever gods there are that I don't live in CA. Were I to move there
by some mischance, I believe I'd title and tag my car in some other state.
Have some monkey revving my engine and bonking my motor every two years? I
think not.
