Hi there,
For those of you that are interested the new MGF had its first race
outing in the MGCC Anglia Pheonix Challenge at a very cold and wet
Silverstone on Saturday 16th.
The car, driver by Don Kettleborough (spelling?) had looked
impressive in practice to qualify third on the grid behind Garry
Townsend in his midget and Andrew Talbot in his Metro.
A moment at the first corner dropped the MGF to sixth at the end of
lap one, but places where then regained to take the lead on lap nine
of ten and claim the first race win for the MGF in its first race.
Andrew Talbot finished second in very slippery conditions, having
initially looked to be uncatchable.
The next outing for the MGF is at the MG Car Club race meeting at
Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire on Sunday 24th March.
Regards,
Dave Brooke
P.S. - I have no direct involvement with the MGF, but if your come to
watch the race look out for number 11.
