Dave Hall, Keith Baer and Chuck Simmers all suffer from "pumping up" syndrome.
As far as I know, there are three common causes of this problem:
1. Air in the brake lines. Everyone's eliminated this one.
2. Drum brakes not adjusted up. Disk brakes are by their nature self
adjusting. Only Keith has eliminated this one.
3. Those pesky rubber portions of the brake lines are breaking down.
Any one with a car more than 20 years old that still has the originals
should replace them. Don't forget the clutch line. Has any other rubber
part of the car lasted more than 20 years?
Hope this helps!
