Russ: it is my understanding that at least up until approximately 1965
there really wasn't a "model year" to the B. The cars were dated at time of
sale (registration). Hence, if you bought your B in 1962 it henceforth was
considered a '62 car. I have registrar's data for NAMGBR and there is a
blending of reported car "years" and vins. That is to say: there is no
clean transition from a "62" to a "63" to a "64" etc. Sometimes a car may
have languished on a dealer's lot and not sold until several months after
delivery.
