Reviving a thread that already went buy, I think I have mentioned that after
years of delay and with a second engine I finally got my '67 B GT on the
road. But after about 150 miles on this new engine a hardened valve seat
fell out. The inside of no. 2 aint a pretty sight any more.
But the interesting point is that my prof mechanic friend has informed me
this is not uncommon. He says this possibility is another factor to consider
when deciding to put the hardened seats in to accomodate the no-lead fuels.
Maybe more frequent valve jobs arn't so bad after all.
BTW I sold my Vet daily driver and moved into the B GT earlier that same day.
