If you haven't had a shop do work for you in the past, I think you will 
have a problem getting used to the thought that someone is asking you for 
$40-$50 /hour do work on your car, no matter what they are doing. Jobs 
that you thought were small, because the parts are cheap, and maybe it is 
"clean" work (no black 20W50 in your hair afterwards), will suddenly be 
expensive. It can be frustrating if you are not used to it, is what I found.
My advice: ask how much it costs, and then decide! I would go to a 
british car specialist, not a brake specialist, anyway.
Example: I tried refinishing my dash with wrinkle paint 3 times, simple job, 
$7.95 for the can. Now I have decided that I can't get it right, I have no 
choice but to have it done by a resto shop. Costs me $140! 
Very frustrating, can spoil the fun...
