In the tradition of tossing your .02 in - I had a TD in the middle '70s, and gas tank rust gave the most serious headaches with that car I have ever had. The filter in the bottom of the tank (yes, there is one, at least in my car) silted up, and the car would run like a swiss watch until the bowls ran dry, and then not run at all for at least an hour (it took that long for seepage to fill the bowls again). Watch out for rust in the tank - it's a killer! |
