In my garden in Vermont, there are lots of slugs, but even more stones.
Out on the Illinois prarie, where I am presently located, there ain't so
many stones.
There are of course 0.4348 slugs/stone in earth's gravity. I
agree that slugs can't live on the moon -- nobody plants gardens up there.
