In the TD I carry:
car jack
1 gal of coolant
(above two items not in the toolbox)
full set of BSF and BA open-end wrenches
screwdrivers
adjustable metric wrenches (crescent) 6" & 10"
spark plug wrench
head bolt wrench
feeler gauge
point file
BSF (and some UNF/American) sockets and drive handles
test light or multi-meter
electrical tape
for spares I carry:
plugs
2 sets of points (someone always borrows a set)
distributor rotor and cap
small roll of wire
spare fuses
fuel pump points or sometimes a full pump
assorted screws and nuts
fuel gauge (in a TD that's a wooden stick)
valve rockers (one of 3 kinds)
push rod

on long trips (> 500 miles one way) I would also carry a half-shaft and a=
spare
water pump
... and a generous dose of smoke for refilling that which occasionally l=
eaks out
of various electrical components.

You have a single, standard-sized Craftsman toolbox to take with you. =20
What would YOU put in it for the trip and why?
