It's inextricably linked with cricket, where the batsman's "on" and "off"
sides are sometimes different from the fielding side's "on" and "off"
sides. When the "on" side is really the "off" side for one player and yet
remains the "on" side for the other it can get a little complex.
Once you understand cricket it's all so simple!
