The fuel tank is being cleaned, and I installed a spare alternator, so
yesterday I tackled the starter. The starter being removed has the two main
connections on the solenoid, plus one spade connection.
The new starter has two spade connections, one smaller than the other. There
are two wires on the car that obviously fit those two connections, and the
wiring diagram shows both.
Questions: What does the wire from the coil to the starter solenoid do, and
why did the old starter (from a late 60's MGB I think) not need it?
Thanks in advance for answers,
