real S.U. pumps, at least the earlier ones, DO shut off when system is presurized, and if it doesn't, I'd suspect the fuel diaphram has a leak. (Do yourself a favor and get a good solid state rotary-type pump from your local parts house if you don't want another S.U.) Otherwise, plugs and wires etc are always going to be more critical on a performance tuned car, so thats a good place to start. I do assume you are running the highest octane premium gas you can find? (and NOT gasohol!?) |
