Green = green wherever you go.  Every solid green wire in the entire car is 
on the same circuit.  They're all fused and hot with the ignition on.

The back of your tach should have three connection points

1.  A spade attached directly to the tach housing - ground - black wire.

2.  A post jutting through a hole in the housing - signal from coil - white 
wire with black tracer (or whatever color you decide to use as replacement).

3.  A spade right next to the post - power to make the needle dance - green 
wire.

There should also be a round hole for an instrument illumination lamp socket 
to jam into.  The lamp doesn't get its ground from the tach, so there are 
two wires to the lamp--red with white tracer (juice), and black (ground).
