Didn't read the original problem, but assuming recurring heating problem,
another approach is to re-core with a double tube radiator.  Have so fitted
my TC, and have only normal heating problems under extreme weather
conditions.  Caution: the mounting ears must be EXACTLY placed on the new
core to enable proper fit of the bonnet.  I was not so lucky and have lived
with improper fit for several years.
