Should I buy a 79 midget?

I have found a 79 midget with about 45K miles and pretty much original
equipment. It runs well and the body seems to be in pretty good shape. There
are the expected non-functional switches on the dash, etc. My question is
what should I look out for/have checked out in this car? Are there any
common, yet non-obvious maladies that would make this a nightmare? I'm not
looking for a project car, just a fun car to drive. He's asking for $2500.
