The hole in the console is approximately the size of a standard DIN
mount. I installed a Rat Shack DIN radio/cassette in my '73 with no
trouble (assuming that it would be ripped off, sooner or later). The
hole needed just a hair of enlarging on the sides. There is a little
concern with depth because there is a steel bulkhead in front of the
console, but smaller cheap radios seem to fit. You can in fact
connect a strap to the back of the radio and screw it into the
bulkhead for security.
