Tranny oil

OK, I confess. . . . . I'll come clean on this one also.  I've been using
80/90 gear oil in my tranny also, it's now going on 16 years and many
long trips in the heat.  No shifting or syncro problems so far.  I don't
claim it's right, but if it works, leave it alone!  I've even know people
who drank and smoked all their lives (well most of it) and lived to be 90.
It may not be right. . . . . . but!
