I began taking my 78 B motor apart to put
in a new cam. I needed to loosen the head
to get the push rods and lifters out. While
the head was loose I decided to pull the head
clear off and replace the gasket as it has been
leaking. The cylinders look real good as the
car only has 28,000 miles on it. Although the
back most cylinder has more carbon
on the piston and head. The bottoms of the valves
are all a tan to dark tan color but the back two
valves are more of a dark tan to black color.
What would cause more carbon in one cylinder
than the others?
