Directional signal failure is often traced to the clunky hazard switch
which is wired into the signal circuit. Contact failure in the hazard
switch and its lights out in the directionals. Don't pay something like
$45 for a new (clunky) hazard switch. Remove the switch assembly and
disassemble the switch from its square plastic box by pushing the
switch out the rear while depressing the two plastic tangs at the top
and bottom. The contacts are now visible and a narrow piece of emery
paper can be slipped in via a convienient slot (Lucas forethought?)
between the contacts. Snap the switch closed and pull out the emery
cloth nicely cleaning the pesky contacts.
