Bruce Hill asked about the 1979 LE. The recent book ORIGINAL MGB with MGC
and MGB GT V8 by Anders Ditlev Clausager (BMHIT curator) is an excellent
reference for all aspects of restoration and has production changes by serial
number in the back.
The Federal LE model began March 1979 @ #492107. The California LE model
started @ #492129. The Canadian LE model started @ #492071.
The 1980 model year began @ #503521 for the LE model. There were no 1980
California cars, all were in the 498441 to 500904 range, sold as 1979 model.
