A tip given to me a couple of years ago by a great Ferrari mechanic in LA was to throw a handfull of 1100% Naptha mothballs into your gas tank to raise the octane. If you look at the ingredients on most of the Octane Boosters you can buy at Pep Boys, etc., you'll see that a main ingredient is Napthalene. Anyhow, it's worked for me.
