last month I posted a message regarding the demise of the ignition switch
for my 73B. Well I found another switch in a friends box of spares, but we
couldn't find the key. I took the switch to a locksmith, but he was having
trouble matching any of the codes on the switch. The switch is an earlier
one, for it does not have the push button for returning the key to the lock
position. The electrical portion of the switch slides out of the back with
the removal of two tiny screws and the wiring terminates in individual
bullet connectors. The numbers on the switch are 1/25200/I4 (this number is
in two locations), WBT 1' 25939, BSS1004, and 125196. I may have
misrepresented some of the 1's as i's.
Has anybody had to have a key made from scratch like this before? ANY hints
or ideas will be met with great appreciation.
If I can't make this work, Allen B (bless his heart) has a later model
switch which can be fit quite easily, but I'd like to try this route first.
thanks
