Firstly you should have strips (originally of wood) that lay on the carpet,
with large washers (both in thickness and diameter) in holes in the strips
over the welded nuts on the floorboard. The lip of the fixed runners just
hooks onto the lip of the seat runners, with the square stops at the back,
which should put the one with the square holes for the adjuster on the outer
runner with the adjuster handle. Slide that rail fully forward so the seat
will be fully back when placed in the car. Although it's easier to fit the
rear bolts first and so you may be tempted to have the seat fully forward
first, depending on carpets and seat trim you may not be able to get the
seat fully forward if it fouls the tunnel, which may make it difficult
getting both rear bolts in. Keeping the seat base level (or the loose
runner falls of onto your paintwork, you could tie it) lift the seat plus
runners into the car and down onto the strips. Get the front 7/16" bolts
and washes started (a slim screwdriver helps to get everything in line),
then slide the seat forward carefully as far as you can to get the back
bolts started, then tighten all bolts.
