I ran a set of flat top cast pistons in my 302 for the first 7 years
of it's life, through the overheat situations and all the other assorted
abuse. Sounds like basically the same setup as what you are building. They
looked
perfect when I pulled them out last year. 302's are famous for breaking skirts
and my experience shows that forged pistons crack worse than cast. I used KB
hypereutectic pistons in the new motor for that reason.They should be very
close in weight to what your crank is balanced to now if you had it balanced to
Silvolite flat tops. Forged TRW's would be heavier so you would have to add
metal to your crank. Dale
