Barry,
It's been more than a few years, but I recall reading about
doing this.
As leaded fuel was being withdrawn from the market, it ended up
in just lower octane gasoline. It was stated that adding a small
amount of it to unleaded high octane gas would create even more
octane, as a reaction to the lead.
This was in the '70's and I had a high compression SB Chevy
that I tried it in. I had no problems tuning the motor...plenty
of advance, etc. This has always been more important to me than
lubrication....although that's a good thing too.
Where can you get leaded fuel now ? While it's illegal to use
leaded fuel on the street here in the states, I've never heard of
anyone being stopped and tested for it. Your car sounds like too
much fun to use only on the drag strip.
