I have a 74 1/2 MGB RB with a Rover 3.5. I too have had problems with
cooling.
The installation included ceramic coated block hugger headers, Ford Falcon 3
core radiator and a 16" 3000CFM puller fan, LE Spoiler and the real rubber
seal in the enigne bay removed. After driving up through British Columbia's
mountain roads in summer in slow moving traffic I found the car overheated.
Even moving along the road (when the temperature was 90-100 degree's F) it
over heated. On the way back to Vancouver I lifted the rear which took the
air from the LE spoiler and forced it through the bottom of the rad rather
than around it. This helped as well but didn't totally solve my heating
problem. I have now installed a ST front spoiler/valance and installed
louvers up high in the engine bay existing into the wheel wells to dump the
hot air. This seems to have solved the problem with one successful trip up
to British Columbia's interior with no over heating problems.
And in fact as I read through Jim Stuart's post from 6:28. I totally agree
with what he has done. It's all important if you want to have a fun driving
car in hot climates.
