John:
You have sharp eyes. The rear end is a new addition, according to Jerry.
It is a Chevy S10 assembly. The mountings I could identify are the Moss
anti tramp bar kit, with tube shocks mounted to the rear mount. The rear
end was also located by struts from the front spring perches to the center
of the diff (i think, unfortunately i didn't get photos) In addition there
was some type of rear torsion set up, which was a bit beyond me.
There was a lot of bits that would tend to get hung up on a street car, plus
from what I've heard the triangulated locator isn't the hot ticket for road
use.
I was interested in the S10 rear end, as it looks like a good conversion for
my Morgan +8. There was an MGB V8 at MG2002 with a similar unit fitted with
Z28 limited slip and disc brakes (sorry, can't remember the owner's name).
Tasty!
Jerry is running 8" Compomotive wheels putting down about a foot of sticky
rubber per corner.
Kelvin.
