There is a certain wisdom and truth to that. When
those things in life that once brought you great joy
now leave you flat, any shrink who is worth his or her
weight, will tell you to look for the source of the
problem elsewhere....( typically a job or a
relationship), and keep up the hobbies and social
activities.
My last boss made my life a living hell. I had to go
to his boss and say "assign me to someone else or I
quit", and I'm even in the military!! I was of no use
to anybody, including the taxpayers, when I had to work
for that bozo. My health and sanity were worth more
than my job (which I would have lost, anyhow had I
gotten chronic ulcers). Within 24 hours I had a great
new boss, and I didn't even have to move my desk. I
respect that not everyone would have that luck, or even
those options, like a single mom working two retail
jobs back-to-back just to feed the kids, but I'm just
passing along my own anecdote.
My $0.02 is to put it in the garage until the storm
passes, and then bring 'er back out again when the sun
comes out to shine. You won't regret it.
Best of luck with whatever you choose!
