The 3.70 is in a roadster with a mild 215, T-5 trans with a .63 5th gear. I
have around 18,000 miles on the car, & will eventually swap in a 3.55 8"
Ford. I used the 3.70 MGC because I had it on hand, & it was expedient. It
really makes you shift a little too soon in first & 2nd, but it is a good
highway set up. I run 15" tires, & would not recommend the 3.70 to anyone
using 14" tires.
My personal favorite is 15" tires, T-5 trans, 3.55 rear gears. This is what
I have in the GT, again, with .63 5th gear.
With 14" tires, I ran both a 3.07 & 3.307 MGC rear, & was happy with both.
Trans had a .72 5th gear.

Jim,
I am looking to replace the noisy 3.07 gears that I have now, and the MGC
3.70 is one of the ratios I am interested in trying. What trans are you
using in that car, and how do you like the overall ratios with the 3.70?
Thanks
Scott
