Use the metric V-6 base with the D & D adapter, & you will not need a remote
filter, or use the V6 pump with an aftermarket remote filter adapter, or the
original factory MGBV8 adapter which is still available from Brown & Gammons
in England, as well as other sources. This requires a remote filter, but no
other adapter.
I am not familiar with the SD1 base, it will fit the 215, I am sure, but do
not know which way the hoses point. Be aware that all British pieces use
non-tapered British Pipe Thread, & you will have to get adapters from Mocal,
or other sources.

Subject: Oil Pump Adapter
Does anyone know if the oil pump base listed in the book "How to Give Your
MBG
V-8 Power on page 28 will work for a Buick 215. It list it as a base for a
SDI. It is a short base with the hose adapters built into the base. I
currently have a 63 B with the 215 and it is soooo tight, my hoses hit the
steering rack and nearly wore a hole threw them. I need to modify to a
shorter style to clear the rack. The one sold by D&D is too long as with my
current configuration. I have my motor out and back from the builder and
would like to modify the base while it is out and easy to make the change.
I
also see that the V6 metric base will fit and not sure on the angle. Has
anyone used this one? The problem lies that I have the 1963 and things are
lot tighter that the later model Bs.
Please email me if you know about the base and where I can get one and $.
Many thanks,
Jeff Howell
