There are aftermarket fan stats that are adjustable, designed with a probe that
inserts in the upper hose, clipped to the outside of the radiator, or inserted
in
the drain fitting. The major benefit is that you are not limited to a single set
turn on point. Locally, Trak Auto carries one for under $30.00. I have used them
for years without problems.
