I did over 200,000 miles with a used MGC rear when I sold my gray car, still 
running today. Rear was
very used when installed. There is really no difference between the B & C rears 
except gear ratios,
both are Dana rears, use the same shims, but do have different pinion flanges.

As cheap as MGB rears are, if you can stand the 3.9 ratio, I'd just pick up 
another. All this assumes
you are using the later tube rear, not the early banjo type, which is not as 
strong.

If you do pick up another MGB rear, replace the plastic shims & copper cup 
washers per Moss Catalog
before you install.
