So far I have gotten a couple of good responses, but to clarify one thing: I
don't think that anyone has done what I am doing with the exhaust so numbers I
am looking for are approximate for my needs. I just want to know, regardless
what system you use (I'll pretend they all make the same heat here except
coated) what temps do you get on the collector and on any convenient part of
the exhaust pipe. The big decision here is, am I going to need special paint
on the rockers, so I want to get some numbers together to try and make an
educated decision.
I don't know if the average car has an average temp for the exhaust, and I
don't know if the V8s fit into the average, but I'll take any numbers from any
car you have if need be. The more data I can get the better I will feel about
deciding on insulation and paint. thanks again.
