The electrical speedo drive is interchangeable with the
mechanical drive. You can change this while you have
the tranny apart. Also, this is the time to do some
math re: your rear end ratio and the tire sizes you plan
to run to select the right speedo cable drive gears.
The driving gear in the tranny and the driven gear on
the end of the speedo cable determine the calibration of
the speedo. The Wedge list had a fair amount of
discussion on this math and recommended gear sets. I
have this saved at home and will send tomorrow. The
speedo gears are available from VB, TRF, and Rimmer Bros
in England.
