Richard-
The World Class version (strongest) of the Chevy T-5 was produced
1988-92 approx. This was used in the Camero only, as far as I can
determine. There are 2 versions, V-6 & V-8. The V-6 version was also
used in the S-10 pickup. Only the V-8 is a World Class. Either will bolt
up to a 215 4-speed bellhousing. The .63:1 5th gear ratio is an option,
not the standard gear, & not all that common. Part # for a World Class
T-5 with a .63 5th gear is GM 1019-2298, B/W 1352-213. The .73 5th
gear tranny is GM 1019-2297, B/W 1352-212.
Either ratio is good. My first conversion had (still does) an old T-50
with .84 5th gear, & it has seen close to 300,000 miles, running 70 mph
@ 3000 rpm's. with a 3.07 MGC rear.
Nothing wrong with the V-6 or earlier non- W/C trannies, if you stay
away from the drag strip. Watch the shifter location, it varies. The
Camero version has the shifter 21" back from the front of the case, the
S-10 has the shifter about 12" back, to far forward for an MGB.

( I love my T-5 in the GT with .63 5th, 3.50 rear, 15" wheels, 65 mph @
2000 rpm.)
