Many thanks to all who responded. Apparently, few people have tried the
Excelsior Comp V, one person who has saying they are not good in the wet. I
never liked being a guinea pig!
My experience with Firestones is that they offer very little grip when
cornered hard and wear out quickly, while Dunlops are very expensive. I'm
therefore going to try a set of Blockleys - the make most often recommended
by those who replied.
