For whoever posted the original question, go get break-in oil
available everywhere -- Royal Purple is one brand.
Carl, Not every store stocks every product but try and look around.
There are all sorts of non-SM in Illinois (farm country) . Check out
the nearest Farm and Home store. If you want to drop below a SJ,
you'll likely have to accept a non-api certified oil because they
don't test obsolete ratings except that a SH rating is still go when
coupled with a C. So a good oil would be rated CF/CF-4/SH -- that
would be a high detergent oil.
Remember the oil was rated SB for all the T series cars! Check tout
this SA rated oil: http://www.pinnacleoil.com/specialty-products/
