Not to over argue a point, but I think the advice is correct and I
should have considered it before getting the carbs leaned out in the
first place. The car was actually running pretty well, though a little
rough at idle, and occasionally stalling at stop signs. I went to a
club event, and as I was backing my car into a parking spot some bullies
:<) in the club started hassling me about my rich mixture (one actually
taunted, "push your choke in.")
Now I'm inclined to turn the adjustment nuts a turn or two and start
over.

Excellent advice...I agree with Carl...what's the saying? 90% of the
problems with the SUs are electrical in nature.
