Murray, sorry, but I stand by my original statement. There is a world of
difference between a typical lap-and- (diagonally oriented) shoulder belt
setup
as found in most passenger cars...and a four- (or five- or six-) point
HARNESS. The latter IS designed to do as you say, essentially preventing ANY
movement. But these also rely on a proper certified roll bar at the very
least;
more often, it's a full roll cage structure designed hopefully to prevent any
deformation of structure around the driver.
