Thank you Lawrie for your reply and concern. Perhaps there is some fine
print that I have not discovered yet, but it's not what you assumed in your
reply. According to catalogs and today's web pages, I find the following:
BRITISH WIRE WHEELS:
MGTD/TF Original Conversion Kit: Kit includes 4 drums, 5 knock-offs, 4
splined hubs with hardware, hammer and spare wheel adapter . . . . $1,300
DAYTON 15 x 4.5 Wheels, CHROME with 60 stainless steel spokes.
Each $250 x 5 $1,250
TOTAL BWW CONVERSION KIT $2,550
MOSS MOTORS:
MGTD/TF Conversion kit: Kit includes five 60 spoke wire wheels, four chrome
wheel nuts, four splined hubs, four brake drums, one spare wheel adaptor,
one wheel hammer and all the studs, nuts etc.
TD Chrome Wheel Kit with CHROME wheels $3,595.95
The Moss package does not specify knock-offs but they are in the
illustration in the catalog.
To me, a novice, it looks like the packages from BWW and Moss are identical
(except SS spokes from BWW), yet the difference in price is $1,045.95. WHY?
THE MYSTERY CONTINUES.
