Hi Mates

To update yesterday's "mission impossible" I now have some numbers and more
information about the springs I bought for my TF on Ebay. The number for
Spring #2 matches a catalog listing. Can anyone shed light on the MOWOG
stamping found on Spring #1?

A closer look last night reveals that the leaf springs have different
numbers as well as differences in the length of the leafs.

SPRING #1 SPRING #2

ESC
MOWOG BRAMBER
130135 500880

They are of very similar design with the same number of leafs. But all of
the leafs are not the same length. The short ones at the bottom are the same
and the longest ones at the top are the same. A few of the others match up.
But some in the middle are not the same.

The Bramber number (without the name) appears in the Abingdon Spares
catalog. I would guess (just a guess) that this may be a replacement spring
made by a supplier to Abingdon named Bramber.

I will have to check the numbers on the springs on my car. I would not be
surprised if they match the MOWOG number. That would mean these are all TF
springs but that one is aftermarket.

Of course, there's a bunch of other possibilities. The one spring could have
been rebuilt incorrectly. The MOWOG spring could be non-TF. And so on. The
DPO possibilities always seem endless.

By the way, does anyone know when the ice is going to melt in Wisconsin? I'm
having withdrawal symptoms from not driving my Ts.
