<<<snip>>>
I have found that the through bolts... the ones that
go through the metal bracing pieces, one at the top
behind the scuttle and one at the bottom at the front
of the door area,... turn on their own and that there
is no way to get to the T-nuts behind the sheet metal
without taking the cladding off the wood.
<<<Snip>>>
I don't remember that these areas used T nuts. I remember that some of
the wood pieces were assemble with wood screws. If the fastener is
going into a T nut it would most likely have a pan head with a washer.
A wood screw would just have a flat head.

Consider grinding the heads off these fasteners if they are bolts going
into T nuts. Most bolts used in the body tub would be 1/4" BSF fine.
New ones can be obtained from the usual T series parts specialists.

I have some old slides I took of the work I did on my car back in the
seventies. If you can send me a digital image or drawing of the areas
you're talking about, I may have a slide picture to compare yours to.

Regards,
Blake
