Blake, Item 3 would only apply if the car is a TD.....Tim sez he has a TC 
which should have a chain connecting the clutch release lever.  In my 
experience 
most judder can be traced to engine mounts, especially the rear ones.  Insure 
that you are over releasing the clutch by adjusting the stop screw.

If you need a picture of this arrangement together with the springs 
surrounding the pedals and stop light switch, I can send to individuals......
