I was wondering if anyone else got a bad dose of spring fever this past
weekend and took their MG out for its 2004 debut?
Saturday was so warm after our unusually cold and fairly snowy winter here
in Vermont, I couldn't help myself. I declared spring, dug the snowbanks
out from in front of the garage, and fired up the TF for the first time in
about four months. With the sidecurtains up, and the top down, I created
quite a stir with the "flatlanders" who were in town for a weekend of
skiing. But after this frigid winter, it actually seemed quite pleasant
top-down weather to me.
I drove right down to the local ambulance station (where I'm a volunteer)
and gave it a good washing. Of course, after a couple spins around town,
the snow-melt on the roads had the car pretty filthy in no time. But still,
it was a great "spring tonic" for me. I felt like a million bucks the rest
of the weekend.
