Hello Rick - Sorry for the delay to your battery question but...when my
1953 TD (unrestored) arrived, it had a brand new Die Hard. Driving it
and them removing the battery for storage, I always noticed there was
acid on the top (I have a battery case that it sits in). The battery box
was getting corrison as a result of the acid 'splashing ' out. The list
had provided some corrective adjustments to the regulator which did not
solve the problem. The battery also had the same problem when it was
removed and on a maintenance charge for winter.
The Die Hard finally died, I explained the acid problem with the Die
Hard and the wrench I deal with and he suggested an Intercity battery. I
have usedthe Intercity for 2 years now and have NOT had the acid problem
again. Could have been that perticular Die Hard, I don't know. But I
know I will not buy another one. The only problem is that I now have a
whiteish battet instead a black one. Oh, well, next time I'll remember
black..
